Coming from an in-state high school where almost 10% of each year's graduating class attends Miami, I needed a decent g.p.a. or SAT score and I knew I was in. I am under the impression it is more difficult for out-of-state students.

I spent about 30 minutes on my application to Miami. If you are out of state you are in luck, because the state of Ohio has been decreasing expenditures to state schools and at the same time putting caps on how much those schools can raise tuition to in-state students, so if they can charge you twice as much you'll likely get in. Otherwise, it seems like the rich, private school type are the most prevelent on campus so if you fit that mold you'll likely get into Miami as well. As for actual statistics for admission go see the princeton review.
